I have been paying bills on-line for some time now. So long, I can't even remember sitting and writing out bills by hand. That is a thing of the past. It is so convenient that I am totally ignorant to the risks of stolen identity. I do not know anyone who has had any problems, so I am happy to take my chances.
What I notice is all the wasted paper I throw out every month. The envelope it comes in, the envelope we used to use if we were to send it manually, and the advertisements. By the time I am done going through our mail we have a mountain of junk mail.
I think we should be able to opt out of the extra envelope at the very least. What do you guys think?
I am on a quest to ask the credit card companies to add an option to opt out of the extra envelope. Just a little box you check. It seems like a small thing-but if EVERYONE did it-it would save a lot of trees.
Oh, I agree, Danielle- there is so much paper waste! All the advertisements and trash- it's frustrating sometimes when you are trying to live a more conscious life to have to deal with all that!
I think you have a great idea!
